Description
This is a fully washed lot from the Los Cedros section of Onias Guerrero's farm, Tres Quebradas. In the cup, we found a really lively and sparkling acidity profile reminding us of pomegranate alongside a creamy and lingering structure remeniscent of white chocolate.
SOURCING STORY
Onias Guerrero Quispe is a third-generation producer and the proud owner of Tres Quebradas ("Three Rivers"). The farm is made up of two separate lots of 1 hectare each - El Toche (The Andean) + Los Cedros (The Cedars). His wife Ofilda and three children help him on the farm, where they also grow plantain, yuca, beans and corn as well as raising guinea pigs and chickens. This lot is from the “Los Cedros” section of Onias’ farm and really impressed us with its vibrancy and intensity. It is our first time buying coffee from Onias and we are looking forward to building on this relationship in the years to come! This coffee was sourced through our partners in Peru, Origin Coffee Lab. They are working with family owned, organic certified farms located in northern Peru. Here they run many initiatives to help grow and support the small producer communities, including selective cupping to identify good cup quality potential and offering quality premiums for high scoring lots.
